Break in the Routine - and it's okay!
Ain't that the truth?!
This morning when my alarm went off at 4:50am, I set it to 5:30am.
I didn't want to get out of bed to work out.
(What?!)
I was definitely, intentionally going against what I should do.
Because? I just didn't want to stop sleeping.
But what happened?
I woke up every 5 minutes or so, saying to myself,
"You Should Be Working Out Right Now."
But still
I laid there
Warm under the big fluffy comforter
Little Love laying against my back
(he gets in our bed every morning at 4am, like clockwork)
All comfy-cozy
At 5:15-ish, my hubby nudges my leg,
"You're supposed to be working out."
But I still laid there and then 5 mins later, took a long hot shower.
And it was okay.
It's okay that I skipped my workout today.
I am disciplined...believe me.
One missed workout isn't the end of the world.
My morning routine didn't get messed up.
{because you know that when the routine gets messed with, it drives me up the wall!}
So instead of making myself feel guilty for not working out...
Instead of making myself feel bad...
Instead of putting myself down...
I didn't.
I was okay with it.
It's not going to be a regular occurence.
That would not be a good thing after all the hard work I've been putting in...
I will keep with my workout routine and eating right regimen.
I will be better than I was yesterday.
I'm just not going to worry too much about it today.
There's always tomorrow morning.
Always a new beginning.
Always a good time to start again.
Breaks are okay.
Trust me.
Love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is also what I tell the teenagers I work with! They have a choice to be grumpy and miserable all day or they can choose to move past it and enjoy their time and learn and grow!
ReplyDeleteIt works well for a lot of things :)
Breaks are great! They give you the motivation to work that much harder when they're over. Besides, how can you resist some extra snuggle time every now and then?
