A Date...

I had the opportunity to do something I never do.
I had a date!
With myself.
All alone.
Doing what I always want to do.
That morning I got the kids and hubby off to their prospective destinations and drove myself to 7-Eleven.
Sometimes coffee doesn't have to be a fancy concoction.  Give me a tumbler of coffee with some of those flavored creamers and I'm good.
I took myself to the neighborhood park and sat at a bench and finished off a book.
I spent close to two hours just reading, with my coffee, listening to the rustle of leaves and the chirping of birds.
After finishing my book and wiping my tears...it was one of those feel-good-makes-you-cry books...I headed off to a new nail place someone had told me about.
I placed my feet into the warm water, relaxed with the massage chair loosening all those tense muscles, and closed my eyes.
Instead of scrutinizing how the nail lady was doing my pedicure, I just sat there.
It was kind of like a nice little meditation for me...and my feet.  My poor feet were needing some loving...and that massage chair?  Heaven on my back and my butt...oh loveys, if you ever come visit me, I will definitely be taking you there.  A beeline to this massage chair!
As soon as I got home, I sent a pic of my pedi to Pidg...we do things like this.  And I needed proof of how nice they look before I messed them up.  Which I did, by the way...on Sunday.  When I stubbed my big toe on my pantry door and now I have a u-shaped nail on my right foot.  Nice.
But that was Sunday.  This day my feet were perfection.
I was in love.  And Pidg thought they were cute too. {smile}
What's the easiest yet yummiest lunch for me?
Always. All the time. All day if I could.
Add some Doritos on the side.
Oh, lovey, you have no idea.  I felt all warm and cuddly eating my "samich" with a blanket pulled around me while watching Ellen.
Pretty awesome I tell ya.
About a year ago or so, I really got into knitting and crocheting.  I even played with the idea of opening an etsy shop.  I was going to call it Knotty Nay...{lmbo}
But that didn't happen, so I put off knitting for a while.  Then the other day, Pidgy was telling me that she picked it up and a friend of hers was teaching her.
I picked up two needles and some left over yarn after eating that PB&J and just played.
Nothing to create exactly, but feeling the needles pick up stitches.  It's kind of like riding a bike.
I didn't forget. Yay!
Before everyone got home, I cooked.  Me!  I love to create.  Writing, knitting, coloring in the kids' coloring books, baking, and occasionally cooking a real meal...these type of things make me happy.  Spaghetti is my go to meal.  That and lasagna...I'm good with pasta.  Pasta makes me feel good.
Those carbs...heaven.
Another pic to Pidg to say that I was actually cooking and look how pretty it is.
The family loved it.  The kids even had seconds!
And for dessert, some choco-chip muffins with ice cream.
 Even made some banana-nut mini muffins for breakfast the next morning.

It was a good date.
It was my kind of day.
It's needs to be a repeat soon.
