More than you ever wanted to read...{The Liebster}

Hi there Loveys!

Do you know Pink on the Cheek?  I met Lauren almost two years ago at Elevate and let me tell you - she is a wonderful girl!  Whenever I think of her, the first words to come to mind is spunky and stylish.  Yup, that's Lauren.

A weekend or so ago, she sent a tweet out nominating me and few other bloggers for the Liebster Award.

Liebster Award + My Nominations "If you haven’t heard of the Liebster Award, it’s a nomination passed to bloggers with less than 200 followers. There isn’t a real award (no need to get your acceptance speech ready), it’s just a great way to meet other bloggers!
The rules: You list 11 facts about yourself and then answer the 11 questions that were asked by the blogger who nominated you." (from Lauren's bloggy)

Thank you Ms. Lauren for the shout-out and award - you are so special to me and so many other bloggers!  Expect a huge hug (again) at Elevate 2014!

11 Facts about Nay:

Read this post and this one to learn more about me.  I talk about myself a lot on this space - didn't want to bore you and since those posts published, I'm still the same Nay.  Well, maybe a bit crazier and caffeinated, but you get the point.:)

Here's my favorite part - Lauren's questions!  She picked great ones:)

1. What was a profession you used to want to be, but are not now?
When I was wee one, I wanted to be a teacher.  I'm talking first grade here.  As time went on, I thought being a back-up singer, a lyricist, a psychologist, a poet, a child abuse liaison, and coffee shop owner would be great.  Definitely different than the career I landed in...but you never know what may happen when I complete this college degree. Excited about that!

2. Why did you start blogging? Has it turned out to be what you expected?
I wanted free books.  Really.  When I started Cover 2 Cover years ago, I wanted to be a book reviewer.  I read so much back then.  Things quickly evolved (mostly because I could not write a bad review - I felt bad for the author and all the work they put into the novel).  I started showcasing women in my life that I thought were inspirational.  That quickly turned into featuring bloggers...which turned into inspiring women to be their best self.  It has turned out to be more than I expected.  I have found a community of wonderful women in blogging. I really didn't know what to expect when I started blogging.  I have only had really great experiences in blogland - meeting women that inspire me, make me laugh, make me cry, never have left my side.  Blogging has been a wonderful addition to my life.

3. What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?
It's okay.  You are enough.  Everything you are going through right now is so that your older self will value life more.  You end up with a wonderful husband and, yes, you will have kids.  I wish for you to believe in yourself more.  Know that it's okay to say no sometimes.  If it doesn't feel comfortable, don't do it.  You are loved more than you know.  Stay friends with Marv - trust me:)

4. If you could live one day over again, what day would it be?
Just one day?  I've had so many good ones - but I think I'd want to relive a bad one and change it.  I'd want to be that five-year-old at my great-grandmother's apartment when it first happened. I would of punched that fucker in the face and screamed bloody murder...maybe put some poison somewhere really uncomfortable, you know?  Nobody else would've messed with me again.  He would've been ruined forever and then the others would've been too scared to mess with me either.

5. What is the story behind your blog name?
coffee-n-ink - so "coffee"? self-explanatory - I can't live without the stuff. "n" stands for Nay.  "ink" is for my love of writing. I used to have another blog called Cover to Cover...and Everything in Between, can you say longest blog title ever!?!  So when I had the chance to start over and start a new blog, I wanted the blog's name to be easy to remember but be unique and catchy.  "coffee-n-ink" was just what was needed - it encompasses "Nay" more than you know.  This place was almost called:  "Daily Epipha-nay", "Swirl. Sip. Write. Repeat.", "Blog Without a Name", and "My Swirling Epiphany"...

6. Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
No pets - but I would love a chocolate labrador that I could take walks with by my imaginary home at the beach.  A dog that would let me cuddle him and would protect my kids...

7. If you had to choose between makeup and hair products (shampoo, etc. not included), which would you choose?
I'd have to choose make-up. and mascara are a must for this girl.

8. Top three favorite blogs/bloggers.
In no particular order because I love them all pretty much the same -  Kristine from The Foley Fam {Unedited}; Megan from Absolute Mommy; and Erin at Living in Yellow.  These three are my must-reads and re-reads on the daily.  Also, if you need anything at all, just email or text and those three girls are there in an instant.  Blog love at its finest.

10. Where is the next place you would like to travel?
I think Washington, D.C. for some reason.  Maybe it's because I've been watching House of Cards again...but the Capitol fascinates me.  If I had all the money in the world, though, and could go anywhere?  Definitely Italy...hands down.

11. What did you like most about high school?
A Capella - our choir.  Oh and those cardboard-hard grilled cheese sandwiches...they were the grossest yet yummiest foods ever.

Are you still there?  Almost done, promise.

Here are my nominations!  {Ladies, you are all wonderful. I know you probably have more than 200 followers - but people need to know you more.  You are all that special! You can answer the same questions Lauren gave me.  Cool?}
