Three Things Thursday...unplugged (3)

Welcome back to Three Things Thursday...

New year. New me. New you. New goals. One major goal this year is to engage this wonderful blogging community better. What better way than to begin a new link up with some blog friends! Together, the three of us came up with Three Things Thursday.

Just three things to talk or write about. Five seemed like too many and "one thing" was like we weren't even trying! So any three things that are on your mind. Any three pictures from Instagram. Three complaints about  your day/week. Three of your favorite treats. Seriously. Any three things! So write it. Publish it. Yell it from the mountain tops!
Just be sure you come back and link it up here!

Use the #threethingsthursday, and let's start talking!
1.  I don't know if you noticed, but I haven't written a word since Friday.  I've been so off lately with my writing.  I don't really feel like a writer anymore, let alone a blogger.  I enjoy the interaction that this space gives me, but if this link up wasn't happening today I don't know when the next I would've written.  So, I'm thankful for this little link-up and for all of you have linked up these past few weeks.  As I said last week, I'm enjoying reading your posts.  I'm hoping that reading enough blog posts will inspire me out of this funk.  What do you do to get yourself out of the no-blogging funk?

2.  I haven't graced social media with my presence since last Friday.  I have no idea how that happened.  Well, I do actually.  We wanted to have a phone-free weekend. I'm trying to set an example to my kids that we don't have to be plugged in all the time.  We took a little road trip, just the five of us, and set the phones aside and enjoyed being together.  No need to blast what we're doing all over Facebook and Instagram.  No photos of what we were eating...nothing.  We didn't take one photo.  Not one...and it was weird at first, but then I just left my phone to the side until last night.  And it was okay. The world didn't end.  Have you ever unplugged?

3.  I took a big step last Friday night.  I paved a path towards healing for myself.  I don't want to go into the details really, but I just did some blocking of people on Facebook and Instagram.  It was something I needed to do.  I wanted not only for certain people not to find me or see me on these outlets, but mostly so that I couldn't see them or their comments.  It was my first step at self-care and self-healing.  A step at being more Renee.  A step at giving my younger self, my inner child, some protection.  Blocking on social media can have such a bad connotation, but sometimes you just need to keep the darkness out to let more of the light in.  Know what I mean?

  1. Love this! And so happy you're working on the healing process. I have my own journey and I'm on the end of the healing process, but definitely not done.
I actually deleted my entire Facebook a few days ago, and blocked anyone on my personal Instagram who wasn't family or a close friend, and then started a separate blog IG for all of the masses. It's protection and also a way to keep a place that's solely safe and personal.

  3. SO proud of you for "cutting the fat". Sometimes removing people from our lives is the best solution. Do you Nay because you are enough. Love you sister! And seriously I was DYING not seeing your pics from your fun weekend ;) That's so selfish of me, but I'm so glad you enjoyed unplugging. xoxox

Hey Lovey! You're commenting! You just made me happier than...well, me with a Chestnut Praline Latte. (Yes, now you know what to order for me if we ever go to Starbucks - lol)
